Addison Public Library

Addison, Illinois

The Addison Public Library was the first library to have both editions of The Blue Q available for their patrons. We are honored to call this our home library.

The World As I See It began through the isles of books we borrowed, on multiple occasions, from the Addison Public Library. No matter what we requested, we were always made to feel as if this we were welcomed and appreciated, and this is why we are so proud to know that this is our home library.

As the first library to have both the English and Spanish editions of The Blue Q, we are honored to have the love and support of the members of our community. It made a tremendous difference when they accepted the novel, but it encouraged us even more when they opened their doors for us to host book presentations, to talk directly to members of our community, to be our starting point for a big fundraiser, and for encourage us to keep our dream alive.

Frequently Asked Questions

- What is the book about?

It is so much more than this, but there is a brief description: The natural balance of the Earth is in danger. The beings responsible for the wellness of our planet were forced to follow the selfish desires of a single, powerful leader, who is once again willing to destroy it all in order to destroy that which was taken from the natural ecosystem.

- For what ages is this book appropriate?

The Blue Q was purposely written to be enjoyed by readers of all ages. This book is intended for young adults, and we primarily recommend it for readers age 12 and up.

- Where can I find the book in the collection of the Addison Public Library?

You can find The Blue Q: The World As I See It in the Teen/Young Adult section of the library. Availability details are posted in the online collection catalogue.

- Is the Spanish edition of the novel available at the Addison Public Library?

Yes! The Spanish edition - El Quetzal Azul: El Mundo Desde El Cielo - can also be checked out of the Addison Public Library! Please visit El Quetzal Azul page for details.

- How does the book’s availability at the Addison Public Library help the Mission of The Blue Q?

Every story begins with a single word, and every mission begins with a place of origin. For us, the Mission of The Blue Q began the moment we entered the Addison Public Library with a copy of The Blue Q. We felt intense joy to know that the novel was now available within our community, and this was the source of motivation to begin our global outreach. The Addison Public Library showed us that there are people who genuinely want to help, and those who value the work of local, independent authors. Perhaps the greatest aspect of our connection to this library is not only that it will forever be home for The Blue Q, but also that our community wants for our success. It was at this point that The Blue Q became more than printed words, but rather a story to achieve an objective far beyond the limits of where our imaginations may travel.

- Where would I go to purchase a copy of the book for myself?

The Blue Q is available for purchase at various retailers. Please visit The Blue Q page for details on where you can purchase your copy. If you would like a personalized copy of the novel autographed by author Dennis Avelar, please email us via our contact form. Details regarding the Spanish edition of the novel can be found the website for El Quetzal Azul.
