As our neighbor to the north, those of us from northern Illinois have a number of friendly rivalries with our friends from southern Wisconsin. When the opportunity arose to share The Blue Q with the readers of the city of Kenosha, we did not hesitate to personally deliver the books to this wonderful library.
As the first library in Wisconsin to welcome The Blue Q, we are honored that the Kenosha Public Library accepted our novel and has added it to their catalogue for all members of their district to read and enjoy.

Frequently Asked Questions
- What is the book about?
It is so much more than this, but there is a brief description: The natural balance of the Earth is in danger. The beings responsible for the wellness of our planet were forced to follow the selfish desires of a single, powerful leader, who is once again willing to destroy it all in order to destroy that which was taken from the natural ecosystem.
- For what ages is this book appropriate?
The Blue Q was purposely written to be enjoyed by readers of all ages. This book is intended for young adults, and we primarily recommend it for readers age 12 and up.
- Where can I find the book in the collection of the Kenosha Public Library?
You can find The Blue Q: The World As I See It in the Teen/Young Adult section of the library. Availability details are posted in the online collection catalogue.
- Is the Spanish edition of the novel available at the Kenosha Public Library?
Yes! The Spanish edition - El Quetzal Azul: El Mundo Desde El Cielo - can also be checked out of the Kenosha Public Library! Please visit the El Quetzal Azul page for details.
- How does the book’s availability at the Kenosha Public Library help the Mission of The Blue Q?
Kenosha, Wisconsin, is a growing city with a strong Hispanic/Latinx community. The Kenosha Public Library was particularly welcoming to The Blue Q, as it is easily a story that can be shared by all members of the community, as well as by parents and children alike - in either English or Spanish. The book’s availability here means that the Mission of the Blue Q is expanding and reaching more and more people, and we hope that this equates to an increase in positive action for the many nature trails and bike paths in Kenosha (and the surrounding communities). What’s more, we want to encourage others to further explore their local library and discover the endless wonders found in literacy. If The Blue Q can help to plant that seed in Kenosha, then it means our mission is doing exactly what we intended since our journey began.
- Where would I go to purchase a copy of the book for myself?
The Blue Q is available for purchase at various retailers. Please visit The Blue Q page for details on where you can purchase your copy. If you would like a personalized copy of the novel autographed by author Dennis Avelar, please email us via our contact form. Details regarding the Spanish edition of the novel can be found the website for El Quetzal Azul.
